Alison Messer, M.D.

Dr. Alison Messer is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist, who received her medical training at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center. In medical school, she was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, and during residency, she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Messer is a native Austinite who is excited to bring her expertise to the Austin area.

Dr. Messer sees patients of all ages and has particular interest in diagnosing and treating skin cancers and rashes, including those related to cancer-related therapies such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation. Prior to joining Central Texas Dermatology, Dr. Messer worked an academic position at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where she was highly regarded by her patients and was named a Rising Star Doctor by Scene in SA Magazine. She enjoys spending time with her patients, focusing on accurate and well-explained diagnoses and treatment options so that her patients get better and are happy.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Messer enjoys chasing after her two children with her husband, a radiation oncologist and Westlake High School alumnus. You might catch them at a park, trying a new restaurant, or at a UT football game!
