CoolSculpting Treatments in Austin, Texas
CoolSculpting®
The CoolSculpting® technology allows us to painlessly freeze and eliminate your fat cells while you catch up on your reading.
CoolSculpting® uses a proprietary process called Cryolipolysis to freeze and kill fat cells in specific areas of the body, while leaving other tissue intact. Your body eliminates the dead fat gradually, leaving slimmer, natural contours in a matter of weeks.
CoolSculpting® is effective on specific bulges, rather than large areas. It is not a weight loss solution and is not a substitute for more dramatic procedures such as surgery or liposuction.
Conditions
CoolSculpting® is FDA-cleared for the treatment of fat bulges under the chin, under the jawline, on the thigh, abdomen and flank, along with bra fat, back fat, and fat underneath the buttocks and upper arm. It’s also cleared to affect the appearance of lax tissue under the chin. CoolSculpting® is a procedure for fat reduction — intended to change the shape and contour of your body — not for weight loss.
You may be a good candidate for CoolSculpting® if:
- You have stubborn bulges in the flanks (also known as ‘love handles’ or ‘muffin top’), inner thighs, outer thighs, chin or upper arm
- You are open to considering a non-invasive body-shaping procedure
- You are generally within 30 pounds of your ideal weight but have areas of excess fat (if you don’t know your ideal weight that’s okay too, we can address this during your initial consultation)
How CoolSculpting Works
CoolSculpting® is the world’s #1 non-invasive fat-reduction procedure. It’s an innovative, non-surgical way to contour your body by freezing away unwanted with little to no downtime. Here’s how it works:

The Treatment
Step 1: Consultation
Just as your body shape is unique, so is your treatment plan. During your initial meeting with our CoolSculpting® expert, you’ll review your goals and together determine a tailored treatment plan.
A typical treatment plan for one area of the body involves a single, one-hour session. Some plans may call for longer sessions or more than one session.
Step 2: Procedure
While you sit or recline comfortably, we place the CoolSculpting® device on the treatment area. The device draws your bulge up between two cooling panels. You will feel a firm pull, then pressure and intense cold, as CoolSculpting Cryolipolysis technology uses targeted cooling to crystallize fat cells. This sensation will dissipate after a few minutes. Once fat cells are crystallized, they begin to die off.
You will be completely alert during your CoolSculpting® procedure. You will need no anesthesia during treatment. You can use this time to catch up on reading, check your email or listen to music.
When your session is over — typically within one to three hours — you are free to return to your day’s activities. You will need no pain medication following your CoolSculpting® procedure.
Step 3: Post-Procedural Fat Loss
Fat cells don’t like cold, and at a certain temperature, they will freeze. Once that happens, your body will naturally eliminate the dead cells in one to three months or more, resulting in up to a 20 to 25 percent reduction of fat in treated areas.
You should see a noticeable improvement in the treatment area in three weeks and a significant improvement in two months. Your body may continue to eliminate the fat for four to six months.
Your final results should remain stable as long as you maintain your weight.
Precautions
Patients’ experience and results may vary. Some patients experience temporary pain or discomfort after treatment. Side effects may include redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness, cramping, itching, tingling, or numbness. Numbness may persist as long as several weeks after the CoolSculpting procedure.
CoolSculpting® is not for everyone. Tell your doctor if you have any medical conditions including recent surgery, pre-existing hernia, and any known sensitivities or allergies.
