Following eight years of training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston,TX, Dr. Ramsdell began private practice in Austin, TX in 1983. For over three decades, he has provided conscientious, cutting edge medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatologic care.

He is board-certified by both the American Board of Dermatology as well as the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery. He is the only dermatologist in the state of Texas and one of about twenty dermatologists in the United States to have achieved such status. He has been recognized by his peers as a Texas Monthly Super Doctor every year since the award was initiated, earning him Texas Monthly Super Doctors “Hall of Fame” distinction.

Dr. Ramsdell is currently focused on Mohs surgery for skin cancer, as well as cosmetic surgeries. He has performed over 11,000 cases of Mohs surgery. He is a sought–after speaker at national meetings where he teaches eyelid surgery, face and neck lift surgery and laser skin resurfacing. Avid hobbies include creating and collecting art, gardening, hunting and fly–fishing. He is very proud of the expert care, kindness and individual attention provided to our patients at Central Texas Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery.

Lady Bird Johnson visits with Dr. Ramsdell during the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center’s Gardens on Tour event. Dr. Ramsdell’s home was selected for the 2007 tour.

Dr. Ramsdell’s success with native Texas Hill Country plants is evident at his home and office. He is a popular guest on radio and TV gardening programs and is the subject of a profile on KLRU-TV’s Central Texas Gardener.
