With increasing age and loss of skin elasticity, the neck area loses its youthful contour. What was once a sharp angle between the jawline and the neck becomes
blunted as jowls develop and loose skin and fat accumulate on the neck. In some patients, vertical bands form in the neck muscle, the platysma.
|
A large number of surgical procedures have been used to correct these changes. In this office we perform a procedure which combines tumescent
liposuction and laser treatment with tightening of the neck muscle.
This procedure has been popularized by the national news media and called "The Weekend Alternative to a Facelift". Although recovery is
rapid, typically over a weekend, the procedure does not represent a facelift.
The procedure is performed in the office with tumescent local anesthesia.
