A variety of agents is now available to treat wrinkles, folds, depressions and scars in the skin. Since the 1980s, collagen has been available and has proven itself to be remarkably safe
and effective. Newer agents which tend to last longer than collagen include Restylane®, Perlane®, Sculptra™, Juvéderm™ Ultra, Juvéderm™ Ultra Plus, and
Radiesse®. These products effectively treat lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows and around the mouth. Depressed areas of skin and scars also respond well to treatment. The
decision regarding which agent(s) to use is made on an individual basis.
